Eligibility

• Open to all Virginia artists and/or artists exhibiting at a Northern Neck Artisan Trail gallery.

• You must be 18 years of age and older. 

• Both emerging and established artists are encouraged to participate.

• All mediums are welcome (painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, sculpture, textile, etc.).

• The artwork must be available for sale until the winners are announced. Winners will be for sale while on the gallery tour and if sold will be delivered to the buyer once the exhibition is complete. The Gallery that sells the painting will take a 25% commission from the sale price.

Submission Guidelines

• Entry fees: $35 for up to 2 items.

• Each artist may submit a maximum of two pieces of original work.

• All submissions must include high-quality images (JPEG or PNG) with titles, dimensions, medium, and a brief artist statement (max 50 words per piece).

• Submit your work via the official competition portal at (link to come April 15th).

 

Important Dates​

• Deadline for submissions: June 1, 2026, 11:59 PM EST.

• Online gallery launch: June 7, 2026.

• Peoples Choice voting: June 7 -June 21

• Winners will be announced: June 22, 2026

• Gallery Display: Starting late June, 2026

  • 1st Place - $500

  • 2nd Place - $350

  • 3rd Place - $250

  • People’s Choice - $350

• Winning art will be displayed for one  week at each of the Northern Neck Artisan Trail galleries. Gallery events and schedule will be announced.

Judging Panel
Entries will be judged by a panel of distinguished Virginia artists, curators, and art educators, considering creativity, interpretation of the theme, and overall artistic merit.
 

How to Participate

1. Review the eligibility and guidelines above.

2. Prepare and photograph your artwork. A maximum of 2 photos per peice will be excepted. 

3. Complete the submission form online and upload your images and statements.

4. Await confirmation email and competition updates.
